Camping Trip

So we went camping last weekend - a short little trip, perfect for our young family. This was Emmy's first experience camping (outside of my tummy, as Miles would say) and so we were anxious to see how it would all go. We had a fabulous time - all except trying to get 3 little kids to fall asleep all in the same tent. That part pretty much. . . was awful. Other than that, I loved it.
Love this picture. A natural beauty she is.Roasting hot-dogs (turkey dog, rather), of course.Me with my funny Guatamalan shirt, picked flower from Miles behind my ear, and campin' baby.
Ummm, yes, Jonas was excited about roasting marshmellows - and eating them, too.We went on a scavenger hunt to find things in nature the same color as our painted egg carton.
She must have been tired because she slept right through us all getting up, talking, and leaving the tent. Sweet baby girl.Truly, a happer camper (at that moment, that is). And, yes, another happy camper. Ha! She really liked her own pink chair.Cute campers in their perfect camping chairs.Eating breakfast on our "log table."

Our arts 'n craft was painting rocks and making them into bugs. How cute they all turned out - and they even all survived the trip home (alas, though, some of them did NOT survive. . . Jonas).

Sorry for so many pictures. I could have done tons more. Fun trip. Want to do it again soon. But want more sleep next time.

Seriously, who thinks to bring paints to make rock bugs while camping? I just know my kids are going to think their childhood was lame if they ever read your blog.
Love the picture of the 3 of them on the camping chairs - very cute.

How fun, at least you know your kids enjoyed all of it, even if you didn't sleep! We obviously know how that goes sometimes!! :)
