The Maxwell Salon

Yes, it happened. My 2 boys took scissors to their own hair and went snip-snip, snip-snip, snip-snip. I went to get Emmy up from her nap and when I returned to the kitchen the boys eagerly said to me, "We Cut Our Hair!!!!!" In that "I'm-so-freakin-proud-of-myself" tone of voice. At first I was a little upset. Then I let out quite a few chuckles, but I tried to hide them from the boys as I didn't want them to think they should do it again to make Mom laugh. They actually ended up cutting off a bunch of hair - but you can't really, totally tell. I mean, if you are standing over their head, looking down at them, it is pretty obvious. But oh well. It was bound to happen sometime, right?

Lexi has done that a couple of times (hopefully she has grown out of it now) and I, too, tried to keep from laughing. One time she cut this HUGE chunk from the back of her head and it stuck out all crazy like. It is fortnate that our hair grows and those displays of childhood "creativity" disappear.

it really doesn't look that bad, but maybe the shot is flattering? but yes, two boys, scissors? it was only a matter of time.

no, it's not that bad. if you enlarge the pic you can see miles' funny cuts.

Saylor did that once and I panicked at first and then I remembered that I am a hairsylist and that I could fix it. Luckily it wasn't that bad. The boys still look adorable and I can't even tell. Atleast they were conservative with the haircut. Nothing that a little gel couldn't fix. They could have cut bangs to their hair line that you couldn't hide.

i am laughing inside, not to be mean but like you said, it was bound to happen. i remember when i was little my two younger sisters decided to play "char" (who was our hair stylist at the time). kim cut off one whole entire pigtail of ashley's. needless to say my ma had to take ashley to the real char to have the other one cut off and styled. now that was sad! i guess all you can do at this point is hide the sissors. they are still adorable boys.

Ha ha ha. Who didn't do that as a child?! We have pictures of me after I let Nicole play 'hair dresser'. I was so trusting :)

Maybe they just wanted to help and fix the bad haircut you said they got in August. Too cute.

Hey Emily,

will you email me at mhegbert@gmail.com so I can have your email? I want to ask you some questions about how you set up your food blog - trying to do one for our ward.

Thanks!

And I'm sorry about their hair. I love long pretty blond locks on boys. So cute!
