Littleton

It had been way too long since we went to Littleton and so we took advantage of our 3-day weekend (that was a 4-day weekend for us as Ben got the day off) and headed over to the front range.

I had gotten PRK eye surgery (which is similar to Lasik, but does take longer to recover . . . ) the day before and I had a follow-up appointment on Friday morning.  Luckily there were like no cases on Friday and so Ben was able to get the day off.  So we all went to Junction, I had my eye appointment, and then we continued on our way to Littleton.  Unfortunately we had a 1 1/2 hour delay due to a crash in I-70.  Lame.  But we got to Littleton and had a nice evening with Joe and Brittany and their kids, as well as with Jim and Diana.

Saturday morning some of us went to Fort Logan to help put up flags on the veterans' graves.  Later, we went for a bike ride, Ben and I took a lovely nap while the kids watched The Princess Bride, and we had Joe and Britt's family over to Jim and Diana's house for dinner.  Sunday was a walk with Brigham and Ben, church, some Celestial Pursuit, and then dinner at Joe and Britt's.

Bella was a hit, of course.  :)

It was a super time with family!

Waiting to put the flags up!  Look - Miles is taller than me and Jonas isn't too far behind!

Miles putting a flag on his Great-Grandpa Miles' grave.

Our bike group - we were lucky to have the Awesome Cousin Grace come along with us.  Most of my kids didn't make it to the top of this trail - even though it was virtually flat . . . Oh well, Miles and I followed Grace and made it to the top.  We saw mountain goats up there - super cool!

It was hot!  Thank goodness for water fountains - not to drink but to get drenched.  :)

We totally didn't plan this!  Well, once we realized that we were all wearing our lacy dresses and then realized we were red, white, and blue - we did stage ourselves accordingly for a picture.  Happy Memorial Day (the next day)!

Cousins are the best.  Here we have Grace and Emma in the back and Nicholas up front.

It's always sad to have to leave . . .

Oh Monday morning Emmy really wanted to come running with me and Brigham - and do another 5K.  So we did!  Emmy did awesome and it was really fun having her along.

The boys - old and young - went to the awesome bike jump area right near Jim and Diana's.  Ben looks as happy as . . . a kid riding a bike.  :)

 Ha, I love this picture!

We stopped in Glenwood for a little hike and ice cream and then made it back to Home Sweet Home.

Oh man, I need a road trip so bad! Was it really cold enough to wear long sleeves on your run?! And yes, cousins are the best, but we know which cousins are the best. Wink wink.
