September was filled with a few big events that will get posts of their own (NYC and Gordon), but here are just a few random things that happened this past month:
HOCO 2025. Lucy went with Patton of course, plus a huge group of other friends/couples. Emmy was able to find a group of girls to go with (all the BFs are at college!) and I think she had an okay time. She left early and hung out with Aidan the rest of the night. :) Lucy had a fun time.Miles and his "new" car. Miles has been wanting another Studebaker for the past few years. His goal was to have one in college . . . so he'd been hunting online ever since he got back from his mission. But most of the vehicles were far away - mid-west and beyond. And more costly, then the cost of transporting it somehow to home, etc. Anyways, this one showed up on KSL and I quickly sent it to Miles. (Miles had seen it, I think, already.) I wanted him to get buying a studebaker "out of his system" so he could focus on his schooling, ha. Plus, this car looked beautiful and was only $3K. Long story short, Miles came down to Utah one weekend (the same weekend I went up to get Gordon) and made a new friend and bought the car. So fun! (The seller even drove the car up to Midway and then took Miles back down to Spanish Fork to get Miles back to him Mini Cooper. The gentleman also took Miles out to dinner!)

Miles came prepared with his suit and hat to complete the look. :) Check out the video Miles made for us HERE.
Part of HOCO (homecoming) week were the Powderpuff games. Which means a lot of girls and a lot of drama ha. Lucy was the quarterback for the sophomore team and did okay. Emmy had some position and was able to be out on the field for most of the game and so that alone was a success. So . . . long story short the freshman beat the seniors (first time in a long time - sadness ha!), the sophomores beat the juniors, and then the final game the freshman beat the sophomores. Hahahahaha.
Miles moved up to Rexburg, Idaho the night before school started! Ben was able to take him up this time. This was Miles' "1st day of school" picture I requested. :)
Ohhhhh this was fun! Jonas finally got a break and came home to Best Man a wedding. :) Jesse Distel got married and so Jonas was home for that. I say "home" loosely as he was mainly with the wedding group - bachelor party (go-karts in Junction), rehearsal dinner, wedding set-up, etc. But it was fun to have all the kids back together - first time in 27 months! We all went to the wedding and Jonas did a great best-man speech. :)
Brigham got groomed - hahaha. The trazadone was key, I think, in making this happen (the other groomer fired Brigham last time we tried hehe).
And . . . my mom turned 80! So we kids came to Midway to celebrate her and her oldness. :) The fun surprise was my Aunt Karen coming from California. My mother had no idea and so that was just so awesome! Erin and I drove to the airport on Saturday morning, telling my mom we had to go a grab "a birthday surprise." We came back and then my Aunt rang the door a few minutes later and it was such a great surprise. :)
We had a wonderful time visiting with each other (Derek and Lee came on Sunday), making and eating dinner together, going out to dinner, etc. It was a wonderful long-weekend with family. I loved it.
Two beautiful sisters.
Two beautiful sisters.
We took these pictures at the next-door neighbor's place, haha. They weren't there and will never know . .
